Artists

Hiroko Nakajima
Hiroko Nakajima is a visual artist working in the field of sculpture. As much as the visual, the physical qualities of the pieces and the experience with them comprise an important part in her work. As a result, her works are often hand-held objects, inviting the audience to touch and interact with them. Nakajima's works are inspired by events and thoughts which have remain unresolved in her everyday life. The making and creating inform and help the artist to understand the reactions and questions around the subjects and to discover new .

In recent years, Nakajima has started projects inviting others to join this process of 'discovering through making'; a workshop project where the artist is the moderator and gives series of exercises (writing, drawing and 3D making) for others to experience the creative process and an interview project where the artist makes an object inspired from the interview on the topic chosen by the interviewees and returns the object them. Nakajima is currently taking her masters degree at Slade School of Fine Art, London, UK.
