Alice Bednarova

Curator

Alice Bednarova is a London based curator and a museum educator. Alice has recently graduated from the MA Museums, Galleries and Contemporary Culture at the University of Westminster and her final project entitled Museums as Platforms for Civil Engagement was awarded a distinction.

Since completing her postgraduate degree, she has focused upon engaging the public and communities, working with them as equal partners who bring their own knowledge content to the museum. Having collaborated with a number of London art and educational institutions, she currently works as a part of the learning team at the Victoria and Albert Museum.

Of Improvisation is a result of the curator’s profound interest in the potential of museums and art spaces to become platforms for public and community engagement. She chooses improvisation as the very medium upon which both, the public and the artists are regarded as the ultimate experts. Of Improvisation promotes equality through dialogue, creative exchange and a positive social change.
